The Court of Appeal sitting in Benin, Edo State, have ruled and affirmed the Jones Erue led All Progessive Congress, APC, Delta State faction as the authentic APC group in the state.
The APC embattled chieftain of the state, Omo Agege who was re-elected to the Senate, Great Ogboru, former governorship aspirant of the state and Innocent Anidi, an elected Delta State House of Assembly Ethiope East Local Government Area law maker, amongst other who contested under the umbrella of the Erue led faction of the APC are therefore the authentic candidates of the party and their election stands.
In its ruling the court said, it is meritious , pre-election matter and that the lower court had no jurisdiction to have entertained the case because it was intra party squabble and the court had no right to interfere.
It went further to establish that the former APC nationa lchairman, Oyegun, action of swearing in Cyril Obodo led faction is strange and wrong. Adding that only aggrieved aspirants who participated and lost in a primary has the local standing to seek redress in court.
But not in this instance of mere intra party squabble which only the party itself can resolve, party resolution here is final the court ruled.
