COVID-19: 317 Stranded Nigerians Evacuated from United Kingdom

The Federal Government has evacuated 317 stranded Nigerians from the United Kingdom on Sunday

The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission made this known via its Twitter handle.

The evacuees is said to have arrived Nigeria around 5pm on Sunday, 28th June 2020 via Air Peace flight P47801 from Heathrow Airport London.

All evacuees tested negative to COVID-19 and they are expected to go on a 14-day self-isolation as mandated by the Nigerian authorities.
175 passengers said to have disembarked in Abuja while 142 proceeded to Murtala Muhammed Int’l Airport, Lagos.

There were over 4,000 Nigerians stranded in various countries across the globe.

The Federal Government had set a maximum of four weeks to complete the evacuation of over four thousand Nigerians stranded in various countries.

The Presidential Taskforce (PTF) said it will evacuate 1,000 weekly.
