Member House of Representatives Idanre/Ifedore Fed constituency and the Deputy Chairman HOR Committee on Army, Hon. Tajudeen Adefisoye has reacted to the ongoing ENDSARS crisis in the country.
The House of Rep Member on Thursday advised the youth to calm down and become more strategic in their demands.
He said they can’t afford to continue destroying the Southern region while everywhere is relatively calm in the North.
He stated that it is indeed a very challenging time for the federal legislators as the Executive no longer implement their resolutions. Adding that “Our democracy truly needs to be redefined and practiced in accordance with best global practices.”
Hon. Tajudeen Adefisoye further called on President Muhammadu Buhari to address the nation.
In his words, “We won’t give up on our democracy and we will continue to fight to practice our democracy they way it should.
“I am of the firm opinion that the process of budget defence should be suspended by the National Assembly until the executive begins to implement our resolutions that are in the best national interest and welfare of the citizens.
“The honest truth is that even if we shout for a whole day on the floor of the National Assembly, the Executive will keep looking the other way. I emphasize that the executive has refused to implement our resolutions.
“It should be noted that we at the National Assembly are in support of peaceful protests but manifestations of violence in the protests is condemnable and should indeed be discouraged.
“I firmly stand up against the destruction of public and private properties. I an also against the use of live bullet on unarmed youths of our country. I advocate the option of dialogue and plead for the setting of a table for fruitful discussion. I stand for peace and unity.”
