The Health Ministry of the Egyptian Government has disclosed that the country’s recovery rate from the novel coronavirus disease in isolation hospitals has hit 93.3 percent.
The Health Ministry on Thursday said 178 new coronavirus cases were detected, upping the total number of confirmed cases since the outbreak in the country began to 105,883. This is the country’s highest daily figure since September 7.
In a statement, Spokesman for the Health Ministry Khaled Megahed said 13 patients have died from the virus over the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 6,155.
As many as 103 patients were discharged from isolation hospitals after receiving necessary medical care, taking the number of recovered cases to 98,516 so far, the spokesman said.
Egypt ranks 18th among world countries in terms of death rates of total infection rates, where Egypt’s deaths of COVID-19 records 5.8 percent out of total infections.
While Egypt ranks 49th among world countries in terms of recovery rates (93.2 percent), and ranks 141st in the world in terms of total infections per one million people, (1,016 infections per 1 million).
