President Paul Biya of Cameroon has declared Saturday, 31 October 2020 as a day of national mourning of the victims of school attack in Kumba.
Paul Biya on Wednesday stated that the national flag shall be flown at half-mast on Saturday 31 October 2020 throughout the national territory to pay homage to the victims of the #KumbaMassacre.
On October 24, a group of armed men attacked the International Bilingual Mother Francisca Academy in Kumba. According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), at least eight children were killed as a result of gunfire and machete attacks. Twelve others were injured and taken to local hospitals.
