The Nigerian Bar Association has on Thursday elected Olumide Apata as their new President following a nationwide online poll.
Olumide Apata, the Lagos-based Warri Lawyer emerged winner of the National elections by defeating two Senior Advocates of Nigeria with a total of 9,891 votes out of the 18,256 ballots cast.
A record that made him the first non-SAN to President in years.
The two other candidates in the race are Babatunde Ajibade (SAN) and Dele Adesina (SAN) with 4,328 and 3,982 votes respectively.
The voting started at 11pm, 29th of July and ended 11pm July 30.
The election also produced Joy O. Aipkopko-Martins as the 1st Vice President, Adeyemo Kazeem Debo as 2nd Vice President and Oduah Joyce winning the General Secretary position.
