Ugandan Singer, Juliana Kanyomozi, Strongly Condemn Political Violence

Ugandan songbird Juliana Kanyomozi has added her voice to the ongoing political violence in her country. Under the hashtag #RIPFrank, she joined millions of Ugandans in condemning the ongoing strife that has pit the police against the civilians.

This comes two days after Francis Senteza Kalibala, the bodyguard to presidential aspirant Robert Kyagulanyi, stage name Bobi Wine, was run over by a military truck. Ida Odinga says the Kenyattas and Odingas have never been enemies: “We have been together for long” The two were on their way to seek medical attention for journalist Ashraf Kasirye who had been wounded by the police while covering the protests.

Ugandan journalists went ahead to stage protests and announced that they had stopped giving media coverage to law enforcement agencies until the perpetrators were convicted. Whereas Bobi Wine maintains that the deceased was deliberately targeted, the Ugandan People’s Defence Force refuted the claims.
