Tanzanian President, John Magufuli Congratulates Akinwumi Adesina on AfDB Re-election

Tanzanian President, John Magufuli has congratulated Nigeria’s Akinwumi Adesina on AfDB re-election.

The President wrote on his official Twitter page:

“The Government and the people of Tanzania convey their warmest congratulations to Dr.Akinwumi Adesina on his re-election as the President of the @AfDB_Group. In our joint work over the last 5 years, we have appreciated your consistent commitment to Africa. HONGERA SANA”

Akinwumi Adesina, was  re-elected as the President of the African Development Bank (AfDB) on Thursday, receiving 100% of the vote for Africa, as well as 100% of the vote of non-Africans!

The first time in history that a President is elected by 100% vote at the bank.

Following his re-election, he has since received numerous congratulatory messages from various dignitaries both home and abroad, the likes of President Muhammadu Buhari, Moussa Faki of the African Union, James Duddridge,  Minister for Africa for the UK Government, Ex-Nigeria and Sierra Leone Presidents, Dr. Goodluck  Jonathan, and Ernest Koroma
